MANOR COLLEGE MEN’S SOCCER DEFEATS PENNSYLVANIA STATE UNIVERSITY-BEAVER ON SENIOR DAY

HARRISBURG, PA–Sophomores forward Moussa Cherif (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) scored a goal and an assist as the ninth-ranked United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Manor College Blue Jays (13-5-2) defeated Division II the Pennsylvania State University-Nittany Lions (3-11-0), 3-1, on Senior Day at the Soccer Field.

This was the first time Manor has played 20 regular season matches.  They played 17 regular season contests in 2024.

Before the start of the match, Head Coach John Dempster, recognized five seniors at the midfield circle: Eldricarl Akonyeh (Defenseman) (Philadelphia, PA/Abraham Lincoln), Doucoure Kounda (Midfielder) (Philadelphia, PA/Benjamin Franklin), Aiden Holman (Goalkeeper) (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton), Shuibe Larabi (Midfielder) (Philadelphia, PA/Science Leadership Academy), and Aiden Tiblier (Defenseman) (New Orleans, LA/New Orleans Military Academy).

Manor opened up the scoring in the first half. Tiblier's sideline pass went downfield to junior defenseman Lucas Dolchanczyk (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Towne Charter). Dolchanczyk's pass went to Cherif around the 18-yard line. Cherif dribbled around a Penn State-Beaver defenseman and shot the ball into the middle of the net for his 13th goal of the season (18:57). Dolchanczyk and Tiblier were credited with their third and fourth assists of the season, respectively, on this goal.  The Blue Jays led at halftime, 1-0.  Manor outshot Beaver in the first half, 11 (10 on goal) to nine (six on goal).

The Blue Jays opened quickly in the second half.  Larabi dribbled and passed to Cherif around the 18.  Cherif passed it inside the 18 to sophomore midfielder Jallah Murvee (Philadelphia, PA/Upper Darby).  Murvee's shot went into the right side of the net for his 14th goal of the season (45:48).   This was the quickest goal to open either half this season.  Cherif scored 1:46 to open the first half scoring versus Penn State-Mont Alto on September 17.  The quickest goal to open the second half this season was Cherif 58 seconds versus Williamson College of the Trade on September 23.  Larabi and Cherif were credited with their eighth and 16th assists, respectively, on this goal. Cherif's 16th assist leads USCAA Division I and extends his Blue Jay single-season USCAA Division I record.  Freshman forward Sekou Sylla's (Philadelphia, PA) inside the 18 went off the far post and freshman midfielder Emiliano Hernandez (Philadelphia, PA) shot the rebound into the right side of the net for his fourth goal of the season (60:56). Sylla was credited with his 10th assist of the season on this goal.  Rodrigo Pedroza scored Penn State-Beaver's only goal of the match to wrap up the scoring for both schools (70:08).  Pedroza scored his team-leading 13th goal of the season and Aiden McMurry was credited with his second assist of the season on the play.  Manor outscored Penn State-Beaver in the second half, 2-1.  The Blue Jays outshot the Nittany Lions in the second half, 25 (17 on goal) to nine (seven on goal).  Manor outshot Penn State-Beaver for the match, 36 (27 on goal) to 18 (13 on goal). The 25 second-half overall shots were the most in either half this season. The Blue Jays had 24 overall first half shots versus Williamson on September 17.  The 36 overall shots tied a season-high, previously done versus NJCAA Region XX Division II Cecil College on September 13.  The 27 shots on goal were a season-high, previously done versus Williamson on September 17.

Manor at Home (Since 2021): Manor finished the regular season 9-4-1. The nine wins and 14 matches are the most since they joined the USCAA for the 2021 season,  The Blue Jays won seven times and played eight matches at home in 2022.  Manor is 27-14-3 at home since the 2021 season.

Season Series (Since 2021): This was the first matchup between the two schools.

Manor versus USCAA Division II Schools (Since 2021): Manor is 10-3-2 overall (2-1-1 on the road) versus USCAA Division II schools this season.  They are 34-19-4 overall (14-9-2 on the road) since the 2021 season.

Manor versus the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (Since 2021):  Manor finished the regular season 5-1-0 overall (5-1-0 at home) versus the PSUAC.  The Blue Jays are 13-3-0 overall (9-2-0 at home) versus the PSUAC since the 2021 season.

Manor versus Pennsylvania Schools (Since 2021): The Blue Jays are 9-2-1 overall (2-1-1 on the road) versus Pennsylvania Colleges and Universities this season.  They are 34-18-4 overall (13-10-3 on the road) since the 2021 season.

Manor as a Nationally-Ranked Team (Since 2021): Manor is 7-2-2 overall (2-1-1 on the road) as a Nationally-Ranked team this season. They are 17-12-3 overall (9-8-2 on the road) since 2021.

Scoring First: When Manor has scored first this season, they are 12-2-1 overall (9-1-0 at home).  

Leading at Halftime (Since 2021): The Blue Jays are 9-0-0 overall (7-0-0 at home) when leading at halftime this season.  They are 30-0-0 overall in the regular season (22-0-0 at home) since 2021.

The Defense Rests Again:  This is the 12th time Manor has allowed one or zero goals in a match this season.

Broken (Team) Records: The Blue Jays have broken the following school single-season USCAA records: wins (13) and winning percentage (0,700).

Broken (Offensive) Records: Manor has broken the following school single-season USCAA offensive records: overall shots (465), shots on goal (298), goals (72), goals per match (3.60), assists (78), points (222), goal differential (+45), and corner kicks (120).

Broken (Defensive) Records: The Blue Jays have broken the following school single-season USCAA defensive records: saves (140) and shutouts (7).

Team Improvements: Manor improved by four wins and a 0.225 winning percentage from the 2024 season.

Offensively Improved: The Blue Jays improved its offense from 2024 in the following: goals (+21), goals per match (+0.95), assists (+37), points (+79), overall shots (+94), shots on goal (+83), and corner kicks (+34). 

Defensively Improved: Manor also improved its defense from 2024, allowing six fewer goals, improving its goals against average by 0.25, and improving its save percentage by (0.042).
