MANOR COLLEGE MEN’S BASKETBALL CLINCHES SECOND STRAIGHT ESAC REGULAR SEASON TITLE WITH HOME WIN VERSUS CHRISTENDOM COLLEGE

JENKINTOWN, PA—Manor College (14-4 overall, 6-0 Eastern States Athletics Conference) junior guard Manny Roach (Medford, NJ/Life Center Academy) led both teams with 21 points and contributed a career-high 12 rebounds as the ninth-ranked USCAA Division I Blue Jays defeated the USCAA Division II and ESAC foe Christendom College Crusaders (7-11, 3-2), 79-64.

Christendom took its only lead on its opening possession, 2-0, with 19:51 remaining on sophomore guard Michael Vander Woude's jump shot.  Manor took the lead for good, 3-2, on its first possession, on senior forward Cheikh Diagne's (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast) three-point basket with 19:29 left.  The Crusaders got within 5-4 with 18:01 remaining on junior forward Daniel Schultz' hook shot.  Senior forward Bryce Nwobu's (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) put back basket gave the Blue Jays its first of seven first-half double digit leads, 14-4, with 15:49 remaining.  Manor took its largest first-half lead, 25-13, on Roach's three-point basket with 8:56 left.  After junior forward Deacon Linder's (Philadelphia, PA/Hardy Williams Academy [Mastery]) layup with 3:54 remaining gave the Blue Jays 29-18 lead, the Crusaders answered with a run.  They went on an 11-4 run between 5:08 and 1:57 left (a 3:11 stretch) and closed the deficit to 35-31 on senior guard Bobby Vander Woude's layup.  Christendom also got within 35-31 with 0:24.2 remaining on freshman guard Luke Vander Woude's layup, which was also the halftime score. 

Manor took its first of five second-half double digit leads, 44-34, on senior guard Tyray Cooper's (Baltimore, MD/Woodlawn) reverse layup with 17:06 left.  Christendom got within 44-40 on junior guard John Fowler's layup and free throw with 15:47 remaining.  The Crusaders also closed the gap, 50-47, with 13:59 left on Bobby Vander Woude's layup. Manor took another double-digit lead, 62-52, on Nwobu's layup with 10:14 left.  Christendom cut the lead to 66-60 on sophomore forward Luke Ross' jump shot with 3:53 remaining.  The Blue Jays took three more double digit leads, 70-60 (with 2:57 left), 72-62 (2:27), and 74-64 (1:08).  Manor took its largest lead of the game, 79-64, on Roach's free throws with 0:28.9 remaining, which was also the final score.  The Blue Jays outscored the Crusaders in the second half, 44-33.  This is the sixth time overall (third at home) that Manor has outscored its opponents in the second half by double-digits this season. Overall they have led 16 times overall (eight at home) leading by double digits in either half this season. Roach led both teams with 13 second-half points.  Bobby Vande Woude paced the Crusaders with 11 second-half points.

The Blue Jays clinched its second straight ESAC Regular Season title with the victory.  They will also be making its third straight Championship Game appearance.  They are the first ESAC school to accomplish both of these feats.  The Championship Game is scheduled for Saturday, February 28 at 2 p.m. at the Gymnasium in Jenkinown.

Manor has won six consecutive games overall and 10 out of 11 after starting the season 4-3.  They won eight straight overall between January 25, 2025 and November 11, 2025.

Statistical Leaders: In addition to Roach, Nwobu also contributed a "double-double" with 19 points and 11 rebounds.  Nwobu also set personal career single-highs with 13 free throws made (also most by a Blue Jay this season) and 16 free throw attempts.  He also led both teams with six assists.  Roach paced both teams with three steals.  Cooper scored 14 points and Linder contributed 11 points.

Bobby Vander Woude led Christendom with 16 points. Fowler added 13 points and paced the Crusaders and shared the team lead with two steals.  He and Michael Vander Woude, who also scored 10 points, shared the team lead with five assists each.  Ross and graduate student David Echaniz came off the bench led Christendom with six rebounds apiece. Echaniz also contributed two steals and two blocked shots.

Countdown to 1,203: Roach has 1,139 career points in 56 games.  He needs 64 points to pass Aaron Brown for the most career points by a Blue Jay.  Brown scored 1,202 in 44 games between the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 seasons when Manor was competing in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (EPCC).

Seeing Double: Nwobu (19 points and 11 rebounds) and Roach (21 points and 12 rebounds) contributed "double-doubles" in the same game for the third time overall (second at home) this season for the Blue Jays.  They also had two players with "double-doubles" on February 5 versus Bucks County Community College (Cooper: 26 points and 13 rebounds and Nwobu: 10 points and 14 rebounds) and December 17 at Central Pennsylvania College (Nwobu: 20 points and 13 rebounds and Cook: 16 points and 10 rebounds), 

Manor Leading at Halftime (Since 2021-2022): Manor is 14-1 overall (9-0 at home) when leading at halftime this season. They have won 22 of its last 23 games overall when leading at halftime, dating back to last season.  Manor is 42-9 overall (23-5 at home) when leading at halftime since joining the USCAA.  

"That '70's Show" (Manor Edition): The Blue Jays are 2-2 overall (1-0 at home) this season when scoring 70 to 79 points in a game.  They are 11-11 overall (4-0 at home) since the 2021-2022 season.

Keeping It in The Sixties: Manor is 5-0 overall (4-0 at home) this season when they have allowed 60 to 69 points in a game this season.  They are 14-0 (9-0 at home) when they have allowed 60 to 69 points in a game since 2021-2022.  Manor has allowed 60 to 69 points in a game in four out of the last six games and four of the last five at home.

Manor at Home (Since 2021-2022): The Blue Jays are 9-0 at home this season and have won 14 straight dating back to last season.  They are 30-9 since the 2021-2022 season. The 14 straight home wins are the most since they also won 12 straight between February 20, 2016 and February 15, 2017 when they were NJCAA Region XIX Division II members. They were 43-11 at home between the 2014-2015 and 2017-2018 seasons.

Season Series (Since 2021-2022): Manor is 4-2 overall (3-0 at home) versus Christendom.  

Manor versus the ESAC (Since 2021-2022): The Blue Jays are 23-12 overall (12-4 at home) versus the ESAC since the 2021-2022 season.  The Blue Jays have won 11 consecutive ESAC games, including the postseason, dating back to the 2024-2025 season. 

Manor versus USCAA Division II Teams (Since 2021-2022): Manor is 6-1 overall (4-0 at home) versus USCAA Division II schools this season.  They are 32-19 overall (18-6 at home) versus USCAA Division II schools since 2021-2022.   

Manor versus Virginia Colleges and Universities (Since 2021-2022): Manor is 2-0 overall (2-0 at home) this season versus Virginia Colleges and Universities.  The Blue Jays are 8-4 overall (6-1 at home) versus Virginia Colleges and Universities since 2021-2022.

Manor in the State of Pennsylvania (Since 2021-2022): Manor is 11-1 (9-0 at home) in games played in the state of Pennsylvania this season.  They are 44-22 overall (30-9 at home) in games played in the state of Pennsylvania since 2021-2022.

Manor as a Nationally-Ranked Team (Since 2021-2022): The Blue Jays are 9-3 overall (7-0 at home) this season as a Nationally-Ranked Team.  They are 35-10 overall (15-4 at home) since 2021-2022.

Next Game: The Blue Jays host the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Fisher College Falcons (15-10, 2-3 Continental Athletic Conference as of February 14) on Thursday, February 19 at 6 p.m. at the Gymnasium in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.  This is the first matchup between the two schools,  This is also the first time Manor is playing a NAIA school and team from Massachusetts.  The Falcons are 8-2 overall (2-0 on the road) this season versus USCAA schools.  Fisher is 5-2 overall (1-0 on the road) versus USCAA Division I schools this season.

Next ESAC Game: Manor hosts the USCAA Division II Central Pennsylvania Knights (1-19, 1-5 as of February 14) on Saturday, February 21 on Senior Day at 2 p.m. at the Gymnasium in Jenkintown.  The Blue Jays defeated the Knights. 106-73, on December 17, 2025 at East Pennsboro Middle School in Enola, Pennsylvania.  Manor is 4-5 overall (1-2 at home) since 2021-2022.  The Knights defeated the Blue Jays, 96-89, in its previous visit to Manor on December 17, 2024.  Manor is 9-1 overall (5-0 at home) this season versus Pennsylvania Colleges and Universities.  They are 33-20 overall (16-6 at home) versus Pennsylvania Colleges and Universities since 2021-2022.  The Blue Jays are 2-0 on Senior Day since 2023-2024.  They defeated the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX Division III Lehigh Carbon Community College Cougars, 91-88, in its previous Senior Day on February 20, 2025.
