MEDIA, PA—Manor College (3-1, 2-0 Eastern States Athletic Conference) senior forward Bryce Nwobu (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) led the Blue Jays with 18 points and nine rebounds as the Blue Jays defeated the Williamson College of the Trades (1-4, 0-1), 78-63.
Manor led for the entire game. The Blue Jays took its first double-digit lead, 11-1, on junior forward Deacon Linder's (Philadelphia, PA/Hardy Williams Academy [Mastery]) layup with 14:44 left in the first half. They opened up a 21-point lead, 29-8, on sophomore forward Nissir Cook's (Philadelphia, PA/Philadelphia Academy Charter) free throws with 8:07 remaining. The Blue Jays opened a pair of its largest first-half leads. Sophomore guard Ihsan Beyah's (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Wood) three-point basket with an assist by senior guard Tyray Cooper (Baltimore, MD/Woodlawn) gave Manor a 32-8 advantage with 7:42 left. Nwobu's free throws gave the Blue Jays a 34-10 with 6:07 remaining. Williamson got as close as 37-26 with 2:26 left on senior guard Ronald Johnson's three-point basket with an assist by sophomore forward A'Jaad White. This completed a 16-3 run by the Mechanics over a 3:!7 stretch (5:43 to 2:26). The Blue Jays answered by scoring the five points of the first half. Manor led at halftime, 42-26. Nwobu led both teams with 13 points and five rebounds.
The Blue Jays maintained a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game. The Mechanics got as close as 44-34 with 16:59 left on senior forward Liam Rardin's jump shot. Manor increased its lead to 20 (56-36) with 10:56 remaining on Cook's free throws. The Blue Jays went on a 16-2 run over a 1:26 stretch and took its first of two 24-point second half leads on Cook's layup with (60-36 with 9:30 left). Manor took its second 24-point lead, 62-38, on junior guard Manny Roach's (Medford, NJ/Life Center Academy) layup with 8:54 remaining. The Mechanics got as close as 15, 78-63, on White's layup with 0:25 left. Williamson outscored Manor, 37-36, in the second half. Johnson came off the bench and led both teams with 13 points. White added 11 points and paced both teams with 13 rebounds. Roach led Manor with 12 points.
Statistical Leaders: In addition to Nwobu, Roach scored 14 points and led both teams with six assists. Cook and Cooper came off the bench and scored 10 points each.
Johnson led both teams with 26 points. White added 19 points and paced both teams with 17 rebounds.
