PITTSBURGH, PA—Manor College Blue Jays junior shortstop-pitcher Charlie Levy (Jenkintown. PA/Jenkintown) led the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Baseball in batting average (0.479).
Levy won the USCAA Baseball Batting Average title by 0.000905797102! He also finished in the USCAA Top-25 in Slugging Percentage (0.760, fifth) and Triples (three, tied for 10th). He is one of three players in the USCAA who finished in the top-five in Batting Average and Slugging Percentage.
Manor also had Scoring Champions in Men's Soccer Division I (Sophomores Moussa Cherif and Jallah Murvee with 44 points in 21 matches), Men's Basketball Division I (Junior Manny Roach with 22.0 points per game in 21 games), and Women's Basketball Division I (Freshman Kyjanae Cooper with 33.3 in four games); and a Baseball Batting Champion (Levy with a 0.479 batting average in 96 at-bats in 34 games).
Levy also finished 12th in Strikeouts per Nine Innings (10.59). Senior Cidrick Navas (Levittown, PA/Samuel Fels) finished tied for 22nd with nine starts.
Offensively, Manor was tied for 14th (out of 42 schools) with eight triples. Defensively, Manor's catchers finished tied for 12th in the USCAA with 16 baserunners caught stealing.
According to the USCAA, hitters need a "minimum 2.5 plate appearances per game and played in 75% of team games or 2.7 plate appearances per team game played". Pitchers need "0.5 innings per team game" to qualify. A Manor player would need to make 85 appearances and play in 26 team games to qualify for the averages and percentages. Blue Jay pitchers would need 17 innings to qualify for the rate statistics (e.g. Earned Run Average, Strikeouts per Nine, and WHIP (Walks plus Hits divided by Innings Pitched).
